Stories of Sturgis
As part of the preservation of our beloved town, we are hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Town of Sturgis. We will be selling a book of short stories surrounding our town. We're looking for short stories of the people, businesses, and events that have lived, operated or happened in the Sturgis community. We encourage all community members including those who currently or formerly lived in our town to share their personal or their family's stories and memories of Sturgis.
Short stories will be gathered through September 3, 2022. We hope to have books available for purchase in time for the 2022 holiday season. If you have a story to share, we would love to hear it!

We ask for all submissions to detail as much information as you can including first and last names, dates and location of the event within our community (Sturgis, Craig Springs, Morgantown, Wake Forest, etc.). You are encouraged to submit as many short stories as you would like. Stories will be reviewed and edited by the Stories of Sturgis committee and you may be contacted by the committee. We welcome all stories, past to present!
Stories can be told either in person at our Stories of Sturgis booth at our Community Market, where we will have someone recording your story for transcription, or you may write down your story and electronically submit it via email.
Market day is the 1st Saturday of each month from May - September, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The market is held within the Diane Jackson Memorial Park located on S. McKinnon Street Sturgis, MS 39769.
